furReal — interactive pets that answer back
We build animals that do more than sit there. A tiger cub that learns to roar, a panda that tumbles after a snack, a pup that takes a leash down the hallway, a cockatoo small enough to ride in a coat pocket. Every furReal pet reacts to being fed, stroked and talked to — and every one of them has an off switch for when the house needs quiet.

Four shelves, four kinds of pet
A furReal pet listens with sensors and answers with sound and movement. Stroke the back of the head and you get one response; hold a bottle to the mouth and you get another; leave it alone for a while and it will ask for attention on its own.

A furReal pet is a plush animal with motions, sounds and reactions built into it. Some of them walk: a furReal Walk-a-Lots pup trots on its leash, wags its tail and barks as it walks around the room. Some of them feed — hold out the bowl and the kitty asks for more. Some are small enough to fall asleep in a coat pocket, which is what the Handfuls and My Minis shelves are for.
What parents ask first
Three things, always. Is it gentle. Is it still fun after the first week. Is it a fair step toward real responsibility. Our answer is yes, yes and yes, in that order — a child who learns to brush a plush dog, put it to sleep and watch for the mode it enters is a child getting ready for an animal that breathes.
The animals living here
Dogs lead the house: the Bernedoodle, the Schnauzer, the French Bulldog, the Poop-a-Lots pug. Behind them come cats, a monkey, a tiger that roars, a silly hippo, a panda turning head over tail. Touch the head of any featured pet and something happens — rocking, barking, being snuggled. Nobody leaves this house without a friend, and nobody joins it without a birthday coming up.
Care, in one line
Brush the plush, keep it dry, take the batteries out when the pet goes to sleep for the season. Kids love these animals hardest in the first month, and the care habit is what carries them past it — worth teaching while the play is still new. That is the whole toy, and the fun of it.
Start small
A Handfuls bird or a My Minis kitty costs less than a cinema trip and settles the question of whether your child wants a pet that answers back.
Start walking
An A-Lots pup on a leash gives a child somewhere to go with the toy, which is the thing that keeps it out of the cupboard.
Start big
A tiger cub that grows into a roar or a pony with eighty sounds is a pet that gets named on the first evening and kept for years.

Why the eyes matter more than the features
Before a single sound is chosen, the eyes get signed off. A furReal pet is read at the eyes first — the size of the pupil, the angle of the lid, how much white shows. Get that wrong and no amount of clever motion will make a child believe the animal.
It is also the part that survives being loved hard. Fur mats, a tail gets chewed, a battery door gets scratched, and the pet still looks back at you the same way it did on day one.

This toy is great!
5 stars for the ability to annoy coworkers (and parents!) Background: I work from home and talk to my coworker on the phone most of the day to collaborate on projects. The reason for the 5 star review.

Funny
This toy is proof that if you tell a child a dog poops, you have immediately made that toy approximately 500% more interesting.

Adorable
I seen this in stores and fell in love with it. I had to pass it up at the time but a few weeks later the shop had select toys on sale and this was among them. It's perfect.

Bonito como peluche, malo para lo demás
Pues parecia ser muy buen producto pero en menos de 20 días dejo de funcionar el “sonido”, es decir, cuando ladraba. Cambie baterias pero nada.

She loves it!
Loveable little dragon, my 8 year old won’t put it down. Volume isn’t obnoxiously loud even for the adults ears, so it was a great gift!

Definitiva mente una compra que valió la pena
Muy tierno y de excelente calidad. El peluche es pequeño, pero perfecto para que los niños lo lleven a todos lados. El material es suave, con buenos acabados y se ve resistente.
Questions the house gets asked
What ages are furReal pets for?
Four and up across the family. That is about the age a child can follow a two-step sequence — feed, then pet — and get the reward the pet is built around. Younger children enjoy holding them, but the reactions will mostly pass them by.
Can furReal pets be turned off?
Yes, every single one. The switch sits under the belly or behind the neck depending on the pet. Switched off, a furReal pet is an ordinary plush animal to sleep next to.
Do furReal toys need batteries, and are they included?
They all need batteries. Most ship with a demo set already fitted, which is there to show the pet works rather than to last. Fit fresh alkalines before the first real play session.
How do I clean and care for a furReal pet?
Surface wash only. A cloth barely damp with water, a dab of mild soap on any marks, air dry away from a radiator, then brush the pile back up with a soft brush. Never submerge a pet — the speaker, the sensors and the battery compartment all live under the fur.
Is there a warranty on furReal toys?
Yes, and it is handled through the order page of the partner store you bought from. They hold the proof of purchase and the replacement stock, so a claim settles far faster that way.
What makes a furReal pet different from a regular plush?
A regular plush is the same every time you pick it up. A furReal pet keeps track of what just happened to it — what it was fed, where it was stroked, how long it has been ignored — and answers differently because of it.
